We are looking for an experienced and eager Privacy Counsel to join the Company's legal team, leading the Privacy functional area,
and provide support to a fast-paced company on a wide range of matters.The Privacy Counsel will be responsible for building and maintaining our company-wide privacy compliance strategy and program. You also will collaborate with other legal team members to improve processes and ensure business demands are satisfied. This is a growing and dynamic team and we are looking forward to having you join our journey!Your main field of action will cover jurisdictions across the company's different operating regions, including, Europe, Latin America, North America (with assistance from our US team), and India. You will work closely with all members of the legal team based both in Spain and the US, alongside our Product and Tech teams and other key business partners. You will report to our VP, Legal International, who is based in Spain.RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develop, implement, and maintain global privacy strategy, policies, procedures, and standards in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant data protection laws.- Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders on privacy-related matters, including product development, marketing initiatives,
and vendor relationships.Conduct privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and advise on risk mitigation strategies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product, and HR, to integrate privacy best practices into business and internal operations and product development processes.Strongly collaborate with the Infosec team to implement policies that ensure data security prevention and to respond to incidents and being the main POC / PMO for Legal.Stay abreast of emerging privacy trends, regulations, and enforcement actions to ensure proactive compliance and risk management.Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy matters, providing training and awareness programs to employees on privacy policies and procedures.Serve as the main POC / PMO for the team responding to data subject requests,
inquiries,and incidents in a timely and compliant manner.Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and industry groups on privacy-related matters as needed.Conduct periodic audits and assessments to monitor compliance with privacy policies and regulations
