SANTANDER DIGITAL SERVICES is looking for a Solutions Architect based in one of our Hubs in Boadilla del Monte, Cantabria y Málaga.

UK Tower is the Santander UK Nearshoring strategy vehicle in Santander Digital Services located in Spain, to provide technology workforce and services directly to Santander UK that will work together and for UK Technology teams.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

The EDB area covers core banking including personal accounts, savings, fixed term deposits, unsecured lending, customer information, accounting, product catalogue, and referencing information, as well as insurance, investments, private banking and financial support. This role is to work within the core banking elements of EDB relating to personal and small to medium enterprise business customers functions.

We need someone like you to help us in different fronts:

  • Production of a Solution Design Document.
  • Production and maintenance of the Service Domain document which details core/system and BaaS APIs in a specific BIAN Service Domain.
  • Sequence Diagrams for functional flows.
  • Review the As Is documentation.
  • Review requirements in the form of user stories, sprint reviews and DDPs.
  • Application interaction diagrams.
  • Work with respective domain EAs to ensure pattern and strategy alignment of solutions.
  • Work with API designers to ensure the capabilities of APIs align to group.
  • Complete Architecture Solution Approval.
  • Ongoing design and implementation advice to product and engineering teams
  • Has control and visibility of the end-to-end solution.
  • Liaise with Product Owners to assist in roadmap of the domain and to understand pipeline work/projects.
  • Liaise with Product/Engineering teams/Labs on the development of solutions.
  • Liaise with EA and TA when producing solutions to ensure alignment to blueprints/strategies and any technological implications.
  • Functional consultancy and knowledge sharing with peers to ensure awareness and alignment of design patterns.
  • Supports Architecture governance.
  • API Governance process - QA of APIs being developed in accordance with SA design.
  • Group BaaS alignment - ensuring any BaaS APIs are aligned with Group definitions and reporting to group any new BaaS APIs.
  • Manages caveats, actions, exceptions associated with design.
  • Creation of Reference decision records and their approval.

EXPERIENCE

    • 3 years of related experience.

EDUCATION

  • University degree in technology, preferably in computer science.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • A deep knowledge of the BIAN framework and service domains specific to the domain specialty. Working knowledge of those it interacts with to shape and define the service domain capability within Santander.
  • API definitions - system services, xAPI, BaaS and omni channel and the functions/business capabilities covered by each.
  • Experience working within financial services, ideally within a core retail banking environment including customer.
  • Experience working on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in solution architecture, and the creation of solution designs and documentation to support the delivery of projects.
  • Broad technical knowledge with a good understanding of integration patterns (API’s, Messaging).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to communicate to all levels and to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Experience of building APIs would be a nice to have.
