As a Senior Workplace, Health and Safety (WHS) Specialist, your role is key to driving improvements on-site and at a regional level. You’ll help your colleagues maintain high standards, all while driving a culture of safety and inclusivity on your site. Key job responsibilities•Manage your programmes, whilst regularly collaborating with other teams and stakeholders across the company •Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisions •Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies •Drive programmes to improve technical equipment specifications and designs within Amazon•Above-average willingness to travel within the covered regionA day in the lifeThis is an extremely varied role based at one of our sites, allowing you to directly contribute to many aspects of our safety culture. You will manage health and safety standards while improving functionality and efficiency. You’ll also manage your team and help them implement changes in response to employee feedback or seize opportunities to continuously make process improvements. Your role is instrumental in keeping employees safe, managing their satisfaction, and supervising their wellbeing and productivity. You’ll step in and take ownership of health and safety to foster a culture that revolves around operating safely. About the teamWorkplace Health and Safety (WHS) plays a crucial role in keeping our people mentally and physically well at work. Our team works with managers, associates and local governments across our sites, making sure we’re complying with Amazon’s policies and legal regulations, and that our workplaces are safe.Amazon Logistics, or AMZL, handles ‘last mile’ delivery duties in partnership with third-party distribution businesses. We utilise creative thinking and continuous improvement initiatives to get millions of physical products into the hands of our customers. We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Alicante, A, ESP | Coslada, M, ESP | Madrid, M, ESP | Malaga, MA, ESP | Puerto De Santa Maria, CA, ESP | Sevilla, SE, ESP | Valencia, V, ESP | Valladolid, VA, ESP | Valle Trapaga - Trapagaran, BI, ESP | Zaragoza, Z, ESPBASIC QUALIFICATIONS•Education to a degree level and qualification in Técnico Superior en Prevención de Riesgos Laborales (including specialisations in Seguridad en el Trabajo, Higiene Industrial y Ergonomía & Psicosociología aplicada) following Spanish Health and Safety regulations •Professional training in a technical profession, preferably mechatronics or electrics•Relevant experience managing projects •Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation •Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS•Experience with Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologies •Qualifications or experience in the field of sustainability •Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including your peers and leadership •Chartered membership of a Human Resources industry body (e.g., IOSH) to support people management •Strong stakeholder management capabilities •Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
