Shipping and Warehouse Manager

Shipping and Warehouse Manager : PPG Industries : Valencia : The Shipping and Warehouse manager will be responsible for all Logistics activities (management of inbound / outbound and warehousing) pertaining to the Valencia site.

In this role you will lead and direct the receipt, storage and distribution of goods in line with PPG Strategy and Policy and in compliance with all European Transport Legislations and Regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and co-ordinate the Warehouse and Shipping teams on site
• Support employee engagement and 5S processes and maintain high safety and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain a safe workplace ensuring the respect of Company Policy and legal requirement for the Warehousing and Transportation of goods (ADR / RID. ICAO/ IATA, IMDG)
• Manage the control, maintenance and safe operation of equipment and machinery in the warehouse.
• Management and control of inventory maintaining regular cycle counts and preparation of annual audits
• Ensure all receipts and shipments are managed granting customer (internal and external) satisfaction.
• Maintain and track agreed standardized KPI’s to measure and monitor performance and to deliver and improve on operational performance and cost
• Support the Logistics Bulk activity in the day to day operations managing the daily loading plan, reviewing shipments in transit and / or organizing alternative routings where necessary.
• Support and help prepare RFQ / tenders.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years relevant experience in logistics / warehouse management
• Knowledge of logistics of hazardous goods (warehouse and transport)
• knowledge of IT tools required
• Fluency in English
• Other languages would be advantageous (Italian, French, etc)
