Team and this job are located in León Spain. Would need someone willing to relocate to Leon or if close by be in Leon 4-5 days a week.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to CTO, the VP, Engineering will play a pivotal role in shaping the

technical direction of a software company, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving the successful delivery of high-quality software products. It's a multifaceted position that requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen. Your primary objective will be to establish a best-in-class software and technology that is innovative and impactful to our customers.

Key Functional Areas:

Leadership and Strategy:

● Provide strategic direction and vision for the engineering team, aligning it with the company's

overall objectives and growth plans.

● Collaborate with the CTO, CEO, and other key stakeholders to define the technical roadmap and ensure alignment with business goals.

● Lead the development and implementation of engineering processes, best practices, and

performance metrics to optimize productivity and product quality.

● Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering team. Set the technical direction and make decisions about the use of technologies, frameworks, and methodologies.

● Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs)

Team Management:

● Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a high-performing and inclusive work

environment.

● Inspire and mentor engineering managers and technical leads, promoting career growth and skills development for team members.

● Foster effective cross-functional collaboration between engineering, product, and other

departments to achieve shared goals.

Technical Excellence:

● Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and advancements, and guide the team on their adoption when relevant.

● Drive growth and operational efficiency

● Encourage a culture of innovation and creativity, promoting experimentation and risk-taking within a controlled environment.

● Conduct code reviews, ensure code standards are followed, and promote best practices in software development.

Collaboration with Product Management:

● Work closely with product managers to understand customer needs, align technical solutions with product requirements.

● Ensure that the engineering team delivers valuable and marketable products.

Risk Management and Mitigation:

● Identify potential technical risks, such as security vulnerabilities or scalability challenges, and

develop strategies to mitigate them.

● Proactive risk management helps prevent costly issues down the line.

Resource Management and Budgeting:

● Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and objectives.

● Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring cost optimization without compromising quality.

Stakeholder Engagement:

● Collaborate with product management and sales teams to understand customer needs, provide technical insights, and contribute to product strategy.

● Engage with customers, partners, and industry leaders to enhance the company's reputation and build strategic relationships.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

● Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance requirements, such as data security and privacy regulations.

● Implement robust testing processes and quality assurance measures to deliver a reliable and bug-free product.

Innovation and Research:

● Encourage innovation within the engineering team and support research and development efforts to drive continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Security and Compliance:

● Ensure that the engineering team adheres to best practices for data security and regulatory

compliance.

Scaling and Growth:

● Plan and execute strategies to scale the engineering team and processes to accommodate

company growth and evolving business needs.

Patent and Intellectual Property Management:

● Protect the company's intellectual property by identifying patent opportunities, collaborating with legal teams, and ensuring proper handling of intellectual property rights.

Requirements:

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

(advanced degree preferred).

● Proven experience (at least 8-10 years) in software engineering and development, with a track

record of successful SaaS product delivery.

● Demonstrated leadership experience building, managing, improving, and mentoring engineering teams in a fast-paced, agile environment.

● Strong technical acumen and a deep understanding and implementation of modern software

development technologies/principles, frameworks, and best practices.

● Successful transition from on-premise to multi-tenant solutions.

● Strong background in data and analytics market segments.

● Familiarity with Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) or adjacent user types.

● Identify and integrate acquired or non-organic solutions into a unified product offering.

● Expertise in building integrated platform solutions.

● Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven

decisions.

● Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building strong cross-

functional relationships.

● Fluent in both English and Spanish, capable of seamlessly navigating and communicating in both languages to facilitate effective cross-cultural interactions and deliver clear and concise job-related information.
