Field Service Technician

Role Summary : A Service Technician performs field servicing, site repairs and maintenance activities on a wide range of pumping equipment. The work is normally carried out on customer premises that will include, but not be limited to, factory sites, chemical facilities, pumping stations, refineries, oil rigs and other plant installations. The work entails, but is not limited to, removal, inspection, refurbishment, rebuild, installation, commission, general servicing, on-site repair, troubleshooting and the completion of applicable reports in an electronic format suitable for submittal to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities & Requirements :Main Accountabilites**

• Visit mainland, overseas and offshore customer sites to deliver corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and general service related tasks on OEM and third party equipment, in line with Flowserve established processes.
• Installation and commissioning of new, upgraded and repaired equipment.
• Installation and commission of complex pumping packages.
• Strip, inspect, report, repair and assemble pumping equipment on customer sites and in approved Flowserve workshops.
• Investigate warranty issues.
• Provide comprehensive, written, daily activity reports.
• Adhere to all routine maintenance of equipment, safety and housekeeping requirements.
• Comply with site and statutory health and safety requirements.
• Promotes a safe working environment and follow all applicable safety regulations.
• Perform task based risk assessment for the work in hand (JSEA).
• Ability to take lead technician role when working in team environments.
• Perform work ensuring required quality and delivery to meet Flowserve and customer expectations.
• Obtain feedback from customer and provide information and recommendations for the improvement of their operation.
• Provide feedback and capture details on the installed equipment that would assist Flowserve to identify future business opportunities.
• Proactively identify and attend training to develop personal knowledge and skills.
• Be prepared to work in a local Flowserve facility, as work demands.
• Maintain company image by providing good professional advice, based on product knowledge and experience.
• Ensure ethical behavior in line with Flowserve’s code of conduct.
• Be prepared for regular travel and away from home working

Preferred Experience / Skills :Requirements**

• Experience of minimum 3 to 5 years in a similar service-oriented environment for rotating equipment.
• Solid practical and theoretical technical knowledge of rotating equipment.
• Solid understanding of vibrations and ability to perform some measurements on site
• Deep knowledge to read electrical controls & instrumentation diagrams.
• Commitment and drive for Customer Responsiveness and support.
• Ready to work on call-out duty when required.
• Travel required around 90%
• Must be a self-starter with good follow-through, capable of working independently with little supervision
• Able to explain mechanical problems, and articulate the thinking behind recommendations
• Fluent in Spanish and English language (verbal and writing).
• Education in Mechatronics or similar electrical based education
• Hands-on experience
• Good experience with laptop, MS office, SAP.
• Practical experience in field bus technology (e.g. Profibus, CAN Bus, )
• Proof of suitability to wear respiratory equipment.
• Valid driving licence.
