As a Systems and Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible to deliver innovative Hybrid infrastructure solutions and technologies and solve complex problems in compute storage, backup, virtualization, security, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and OCI) disciplines.
This position can be remote based in Spain, preferably in Barcelona.
This position is part of the Core Infrastructure Service (CIS) Department in a hybrid workspace environment allowing a mix of remote work and onsite Beckman locations. At CIS, our vision is to Design, Architect and deliver highly effective, reliable, secure, and innovative infrastructure services globally that align and support Beckman’s Business goals and objectives.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to : Contribute to functional teams and infrastructure projects spanning hybrid on-premise and cloud technologies
Solve complex infrastructure problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative and sustainable solutions
Interpret internal/external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve processes and services
Use data-driven analytical thought to identify innovative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities
Collaborate with Digital Technology teams to support Machine Learning, AI & IoT initiatives
Participate in global multi-Opco initiatives and Danaher initiated projects
Continuously strive for operational excellence and develop automation strategies to improve productivity
Research and evaluate infrastructure technologies and solutions and impact the achievement of our customer project, service and operational objectives.
The essential requirements of the job include : Bachelor’s degree in field with 5+ years’ experience OR master’s degree in field with 3+ years’ experience OR Doctoral Degree in field with 0-2 years’ experience AND experience working in System Architect/DevOps in an enterprise environment
Require depth and breadth of expertise in compute, storage, backup, cloud platforms & hybrid IT environments.
Experience in Windows and Active Directory Administration (Forest Management, DHCP, DNS, GPO)
Experience in or knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMWare and HyperV.
Experience in or knowledge of Cloud/Hybrid Storage services and methodologies such as AFS & AWS Storage Gateway.
Networking knowledge of the IP stack, load balancing, firewalls, etc
Experience with one or more of the following languages : Powershell, Python, BASH.
Experience working on projects in a complex global environment requiring co-ordination with Teams in multiple geographical locations and across different technology stacks.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in : DevOps, CI/CD automation/management (Jenkins), monitoring services
Experience with configuration management and automation (Chef/AWS SSM)
Experience in or knowledge of Linux Operating systems
