ROLE SUMMARY :

  • King’s College, world-renowned for academic excellence and student leadership, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Head of English & EAL to join our teaching team on a permanent basis in August 2024.- As the Head of English and EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher at King´s College Soto Viñuelas, you will lead a dynamic team in delivering high-quality English language and literature education to a diverse student body, encompassing IGCSE, A level, and IB curricula.- Your role involves designing and implementing comprehensive English language programmes that cater to students with varying levels of proficiency, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. With a focus on multilingualism, you will ensure that our curriculum celebrates linguistic diversity and promotes cross-cultural understanding.- Additionally, you will spearhead an inclusive programme for EAL learners, providing tailored support and resources to facilitate their academic and social integration, ultimately preparing them for academic success and global citizenship.- We are looking for enthusiastic and committed teachers who would like to join our school located in the beautiful city of Madrid.   • Applicants must be eligible to work in the EU and be fluent in English. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning in line with the UK National Curriculum and local requirements.

  • To plan, feedback and teach in line with school and departmental procedures.

  • To plan, prepare and deliver schemes of work in accordance with school policies.

  • To maintain a working knowledge of National Curriculum & other documents.

  • To maintain records of pupils’ progress including all statutory documents required by the UK DFE.

  • To produce reports and grades for pupils as per the school calendar.

  • To conduct termly interviews with parents to discuss and explain their child’s performance and progress in school.

  • To provide and maintain an attractive and stimulating environment in which to foster effective teaching and learning.

  • To monitor progress and the effectiveness of class work and to evaluate and modify planning and teaching as necessary.

  • To differentiate accordingly according to the students’ needs

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE :

  • A dynamic and pro-active teacher, preferably with independent sector or international experience
  • Strong team player willing to support other colleagues
  • Excellent working knowledge of the English National Curriculum and recent developments
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Pastoral responsibility or experience would be an advantage
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school
