Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled and European Material Master Data Director to lead the management of our material master data department for the EMEA region, ensuring strategy for each Business Unit, and adapt processes to each of them. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of material data governance, data quality, and a proven track record in developing and executing master data strategies that align with business objectives. With a strong focus on collaboration, the candidate should have the capability to build robust connections with business units and leverage innovative technologies, automation, and AI to drive efficiency and innovation in master data management. 
The candidate will be a true business partner, with strong interpersonal and influence skills, and must develop strong relationships with senior leadership wshile managing expectations.
The position should embrace and model the principles of servant leadership, placing the needs of the team, business units, and the organization at the forefront.

Responsibilities:

• Strategic Leadership:

Develop and implement a European product master data strategy connected with Customer and Business Unit needs, leveraging with the latest technologies and automation.

Build strong partnerships with cross-functional teams, understanding their data requirements, and providing strategic guidance on master data management to the relevant Business data Owners for each specific BU.

• Business Unit Collaboration:

Establish and cultivate relationships with business units to gain deep insights into their specific data needs and challenges.

Collaborate closely with business leaders to align master data strategies with main business goals and objectives, incorporating technological solutions where applicable.

• Data Governance:

Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards for product master data, ensuring alignment with business unit objectives and incorporating AI-driven governance solutions.

Regularly engage with business units to assess the effectiveness of data governance policies and make necessary adjustments, utilizing technological advancements.

Ensure best practices related to Data Lifecycle Management (DLM) & Master Data Governance (quality, integrity, management, ownership)

• Master Data Management:

Understanding of business operations and models as well as the critical business issues and requirements.

Design and implement robust processes for the creation, maintenance, and retirement of product master data, leveraging automation and AI technologies, with a keen understanding of business unit requirements.

Work collaboratively with business unit leaders to ensure the unified integration of master data management processes into their workflows with internal and external data, utilizing technology solutions.

• Technology Integration:

Collaborate with different teams to integrate product master data across various systems and platforms, ensuring technology solutions meet the specific needs outlined by business.

Evaluate and recommend innovative solutions that enhance collaboration and efficiency between master data management and business units, fostering innovation in data management.

• Team management:

Lead and mentor a diverse team of over 30 professionals, fostering collaboration, teamwork, and a positive work culture.

Execute initiatives aligned with organizational goals, managing resource allocation, and conducting performance evaluations.

Play a key role in recruitment, onboarding, and conflict resolution, promoting transparent communication and proactive training for team development.

Implement succession plans, ensuring a talented pipeline for future leadership roles within the team.
