Mission and responsibilities : As a Data Protection & IT Lawyer, you will form part of the Bank's Legal Department and you will provide comprehensive legal advice on data protection and IT related matters and will support the Bank’s Business and T&O areas.

The main tasks of this position will be the following:

  • Data protection related advice (both in BAU and special projects), including, amongst others:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating data protection related provisions of agreements with third parties, specially complex collaboration agreements with top-tier technology partners.

  • Reviewing contracting flows from a privacy perspective.

  • Determing the role of the parties in relationships with third parties (i.e., independent controllers, joint controllers or data processor).

  • Complying with the information duty established by articles 13 and 14 of the GDPR (e.g., drafting of first and second information layers, privacy policies, cookies policies, consents, etc.).

  • Regularization of international data transfers.

  • Information requirements and sanctioning procedures before the Spanish DPA. Administrative recourses before the Audiencia Nacional.

  • Legal assessment of privacy related complex matters.

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating IT contracts and advice regarding IT and IP matters, including the implementation of new EU regulations (e.g., Digital Operational Resilience Act, AI Regulation, etc.).

To be successful in the role you must have :

  • +6 years of experience in Big Four, recognised law firms, or in house experience (financial entity or IT company).
  • University or master’s degree in law and having a Master on Data Protection or IT will be a plus!
  • Previous experience in legal advice on data protection, IT and IP.
  • Proficiency in English
  • Full Microsoft Office (Excel, World, PowerPoint) and Outlook skills
  • Well organized and able to adapt to work environment and new challenges, proactive with good communication and team working skills, discreet and ethical, problem solving with demonstrable initiative and easiness to learn.
