About the Role

Senior Project Manager - Mobile World Congress Barcelona :

Take ownership of various programs and initiatives, driving them forward with determination and delivering impactful results.

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who thrives in autonomous roles, excels in global environments, and remains composed under pressure.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with the MWC Barcelona Event Director, PMO, and GSMA cross-functional teams to effectively manage and deliver against priorities.

We're looking for a dedicated team player who possesses exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Your ability to actively engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial in achieving our project objectives.

These responsibilities include, but are not limited to the below :

Program / Initiatives Project Management :

Lead and drive the execution of multiple projects and programs, overseeing every aspect from initiation to closure. This includes meticulous reporting, rigorous quality assurance, comprehensive data analysis, and proactive management of risks and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

Continuously seek insights and opportunities for improvement to enhance project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

Stakeholder Management :

Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and governmental entities.

Manage and balance their expectations effectively to ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.

Provide direct support to the MWC Barcelona Event Director in liaising with all internal stakeholders and MWC Barcelona Virtual Team Coordination management (team communication, coordination & alignment, roles and responsibilities and key documentation)

Communication and Negotiation :

Utilise strong communication skills to establish and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and suppliers.

Proactively manage dependencies and resolve conflicts through constructive dialogue and negotiation, fostering an environment of collaboration and mutual understanding.

Demonstrate adept problem-solving skills to address challenges as they arise, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with project goals.

Supplier and partner management :

Cultivate and nurture relationships with suppliers and partners, serving as the main point of contact for day-to-day interactions.

Maintain open lines of communication, establish clear expectations, and coordinate closely with GSMA teams to ensure seamless integration of external requirements.

Monitor progress diligently, identifying any issues or delays and taking proactive steps to mitigate risks and drive performance excellence.

Other Barcelona-specific activities :

Opportunities to engage in additional local initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed, leveraging your expertise to support the broader organisational objectives within the Barcelona region.

About You

Project Management Experience : Extensive experience in project management within the events industry and under an international framework.

Prioritisation and Ownership : Ability to prioritise effectively while managing multiple responsibilities, tasks, and relationships simultaneously.

Demonstrates ownership and utilises available resources efficiently.

Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking : Exhibit critical thinking, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Dedication and Meeting Expectations : Demonstrate unwavering dedication and willingness to go the extra mile to meet expectations, even under tight deadlines.

Negotiation Skills and Financial Management : Exceptional negotiation skills and experience in budget and P / L management.

Autonomous Work and Service Focus : Previous experience working autonomously in a service-focused organisation, demonstrating ownership and resourceful utilisation of available support.

Professionalism and Confidentiality : Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Relationship Building and Customer Focus : Excel at building relationships and fostering connections throughout the organisation.

Maintain composure and friendliness under pressure while being mindful of cultural diversity.

Communication Skills : Excellent communication both English & Spanish written / oral. Intermediate written and spoken Catalan is required and an advanced level will be a bonus.

Presentation and Data Analysis Skills : Proficient in writing and building presentations with attention to detail. Ability to synthesise vast amounts of information into actionable recommendations and compelling narratives.

Strong foundation in data analysis and data visualisation.

Technical Skills : Excellent skills in using MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and other office / online applications.
