Transplantation within the Translational Research in Cancer and Blood disorders in pediatrics

JOB DESCRIPTION

Education and qualifications : Required:

Degree in Medicine

Specialist training in Paediatrics or Hematology (via MIR or equivalent)

Experience and knowledge : Required:

At least 1-year experience in Paediatric Haematology

Desired:

Experience in red blood cell disorders, mainly sickle cell disease

Training in biomedical research, genomics, statistical analysis (R statistical test)

Experience in Research in Paediatrics

Good communication skills and good team player

Conversation/Discussion oral level in medical English

Main responsibilities and duties : Labour conditions: -

Part time position: 32,5 hours/week

  • Start: Inmediately
  • Temporary contract. 12 months (renewable 12 extra months)
  • Gross annual salary: 27.000€.

The Paediatric Haematology and Oncology Division of Vall d’Hebron Hospital treats around 120 children and adolescents with cancer

as well as up to 500 new patients with haematological conditions and performs 40 stem cell transplantations per year. The unit is part

of the European Innovative Therapies for Children with Cancer (ITCC) consortium and two European Reference Networks (Paed-Can

and EuroBloodNet) and has an ambitious clinical research program including patient registries, early and late phase trials, a

personalised medicine programme and multiple lines of research in stem cell transplant, sarcomas, neuroblastoma, CNS tumours

and rare anaemia disorders.

All research is conducted through the Translational Research in Child and Adolescent Cancer Group of VHIR. There are 30 early

consultants, 2 study coordinators, 1 data manager and 2 research nurses.

His/her main role will be:

  • Support Clinical coordination of a European Clinical Research project on Artificial Intelligence on genomics for sickle cell

disease for personalized medicine.

  • Recruitment and study-related activities including laboratory coordination of patients enrolled in the clinical Research protocol
