Purpose of the Role : Leading a generalist HR service for the South Europe Unit. This involves the development and implementation of policies and programs covering a broad range of HR activities including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Organisational Development, Training and HR administration. This role also works with the VP of HR Europe & Africa in implementing European wide initiatives into other locations. Responsibilities:

  • Leading generalist HR support to the daily needs of the Unit manufacturing site.
  • Responsible for the HR management of local labour forces including Talent Acquisition and resourcing of management and shop floor associates, local retention strategies and attendance management.
  • Works with the General Manager and local managers on reporting of employee statistics and data.
  • Close liaison with the General Manager and local Unit Site Leadership Team to embed our People Strategy and implement locally focusing on the EVP and people experience at all levels.
  • Responsible for the management of HR administration and payroll for all locations supported.
  • Working with the VP of HR Europe & Africa to ensure that all local HR strategies link to the overall HR strategies of the Global and European business.
  • Will work as a key member of the Unit Site Leadership Team to develop Employee Relations strategies to ensure good working relations and develop a high performing organisation among associates at all levels.
  • Will conduct training sessions with local managers on best practice in relation to dealing with employees and ensures managers are kept up to date with key legislative changes.
  • Conducting regular reviews of the local HR procedures and processes to ensure they comply with best practice and law.
  • Supporting the VP of HR Europe & Africa in the implementation of the salary review in supported Unit locations.
  • Ensures day to day issues within the Unit are resolved and supported to people issues is given as required.
  • Conducting local job evaluation reviews in accordance with the HAY job evaluation process.
  • Ensuring company benefits are administered and sourced in a cost effective and timely manner.
  • Directing local programs and processes that maintain employee morale and supports the relevant Unite business such as associate events and recognition systems.
  • Works with line managers within agreed European resources & framework to develop training initiatives to meet the organisational development needs of the business and agreed personal development plans.
  • Ensuring that our workforce is inclusive and diverse and that we meet equal opportunity standards.
  • Acting as a counsellor to local management and associates.
  • Carries out specific HR Projects in support of the implementation of the European HR Strategy together with the VP of HR Europe & Africa.

Requirements :

  • Degree level qualified, preferably in HR or Business related.
  • Significant experience in generalist HR role, preferably in a multi-site, multi cultural manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in making changes to better service the business and aligning to business strategy.
  • Excellent use of Microsoft packages, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish. Other European languages are an advantage.
  • Can do attitude with demonstrated evidence of taking initiative and leading projects.
  • People management experience.
  • Previous experience creating and presenting training sessions for managers on topics such as disciplinary, absence management amongst others.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels
  • Previous experience in compensation and salary review process.
