PURPOSE OF THE JOB

  • He/she performs the Certification and Validation activities for part of the train delegated by the TVE during project execution
  • He/she writes the Train test procedures
  • He/she carries out type, validation or investigation tests, and preparing reports
  • He/she defines and implements the most appropriate testing methodology and means of testing
  • He/she develops test operating modes and analyses test results

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

Accountable for:

  • Defining the most appropriate test methodology, testing means and developing the test operating mode in accordance within the costs time and pass-fail criterion set for the test.
  • Executing tests and providing reports.

Responsible for: For Tests:

  • Preparing the tests he is responsible for:

  • Participating in the design and the development of the tools necessary for performing the tests

  • Implementing, verifying (functional), and ensuring compliance (calibration) of the measuring equipment to be ready at the time of the test.

  • Preparing the equipment for testing. Validating that the applied configuration and pre requisite testing allows the testing to proceed.

  • Respecting EHS rules notably implementing LockOut TagOut instruction.

  • Supervising and/or executing test activities, analysing test results “live” and deciding if test has to be redone or not

  • Test results data analysis, writing static and dynamic test reports

For validation:

  • Executing activities given by the Train Validation Engineer (TVE)
  • Updating the Validation Plan
  • Consolidating the specification of tools and test means (climatic chamber, train,...)
  • Tools & means procurement (design, purchase, reservation,)
  • Writing Train System test procedures
  • Ensuring the timely issuing of the Validation proves (including proves of lower level systems and components) and consolidates Validation files
  • Providing structured REX to feed costing activities, and to enrich the CV metier technical repository

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational requirements and experience

  • Train system knowledge (system analysis, railways) : at least 2 years

  • Tests organization capability, knowledge of planning tools

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

  • Expected skills according to a functional test:

  • Functional test execution capability on some of the FBS functions of the following domains: Train network, TCMS software functions, TCMS electrical functions, Traction, Braking, Auxiliary supply and energy management, Doors, PACIS, Signalling.

  • Experience in TCMS development and/or validation.

  • Knowledge of electrical vs software design on train.

  • Expected skills according to physical measurement tests:

  • Physical test execution capability on some of the following domains: Aerodynamics / air passage, Dimensional & gauge, Electromagnetic Compatibility, Acoustics / noise, Railway dynamics, Weight management & allocation, Climatic comfort, climatic adaptation, Smoke detection / Fire protection system, Horn & headlights

  • Ability to define, create and maintain test benches

  • Software Validation

  • Required electrical habilitation level
