About the team you are joining

Reporting to the Regional Head, External Affairs and Sustainability, Europe, the incumbent will be responsible to manage and coordinate regional environmental and sustainability advocacy activities. The incumbent will also be required to advocate to the national Government and Regulatory Authorities for key industry positions, such as regulatory and policy developments, industry taxation, slots, and infrastructure improvements.

What your day would be like
  • Promote IATA's policies, positions, objectives, activities, services and products amongst airlines, governments, regional organizations, and other industry stakeholders;
  • Provide guidance on policy development and tactical Environmental Sustainability recommendations. This includes monitoring and reporting on legislative initiatives in the region as appropriate;
  • Playing a leading role on evaluation of regional developments in environmental sustainability, and review of regulatory initiatives requiring advocacy;
  • Support the development and management of IATA’s sustainability initiatives at the regional level to advance the development of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), and industry efforts related to cabin waste, single use plastics (SUP), and sustainable tourism;
  • Act as the regional office’s liaison between IATA central and country offices on environmental sustainability matters, sharing expertise, providing support and guidance as necessary to fulfil the industry’s environmental sustainability agenda at the regional level;
We would love to hear from you if you have
  • Minimum 6 years of working experience in an aviation related field with at least 3 years of experience in sustainability or any other related areas;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in networking with stakeholders, governments, institutions and aviation as well as economic matters related to the aviation industry;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence people in a multi-cultural environment;
  • A proactive approach with a hands-on attitude and a strategic thinking mindset;
  • Strong communication skills, relationship management, well-developed negotiation and lobbying skills;
