DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Summary : As a Custodial Worker you will work alone or as a member of a crew, performing a full range of janitorial duties of which the following are typical: Sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, using heavy industrial powered equipment. Washing and cleaning windows inside and outside of building. Using brushes, buckets, squeegees, cleaning cloths, and cleaning solutions.

  • Reports directly to the Custodial Lead, and or assigned applicable work leader.
  • Ensures all tasks assigned are carried out in a satisfactory manner in accordance to established standards.
  • Vacuums/ sweeps/dry mops/scrubs/strips all floors using brooms, mops, vacuums, light and heavy industrial types of floor cleaners; Dusts/replaces fixtures/wipes down and cleans all areas of the facility.
  • Cleans mirrors, sinks, water fountains, aseptically cleans lavatories/urinals, replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap dispensers.
  • Notes conditions of various rooms and reports to supervisor of restrooms, any broken windows/mirrors, water leaks, clogged toilet bowls or drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance work and/or repairs.
  • Adjusts/oils/cleans powered equipment; changes brushes, rollers and buffers, replaces filter bags, cleans all filters and other attachments on the power equipment as needed.
  • Maintains stock of cleaning supplies, materials, and equipment to perform custodial duties; Notifies supervisor when more supplies need to be ordered or replaces or equipment is in need of repair or replacement.
  • Work may be strenuous and may involve working outdoors during inclement weather.
  • Complies with applicable Royal Decree, OSHA and AFOSH safety regulations.
  • Must be knowledgeable of Spanish and USAF safety policies.
  • Adheres to all pertinent USAF / KBR policies, plans and directives.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned including supporting other departments or special projects

  • Must be able to work well with other personnel
  • Highly desired to have a Spanish Class ‘B’ driver’s license (not required)

Qualifications :

  • Must have at least six (6) months of trade-related work experience, this includes similar combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum high school completion or equivalent.
  • Must have ability to communicate in native language
  • Must have English Reading Level I, Written Level I, Verbal Level I
  • The physical requirements of the position include light lifting of up to 30 kilograms, and for heavy lifting of items up to 50 kilograms, proper handling equipment is utilized. Moderate exposure to skill includes dust, wide temperature range, noise, vibrations, fumes, harsh chemicals, odors, pollens and grasses, grease, machinery and moving parts, sitting and driving for long periods, bending, stooping, on knees, both indoors and outdoors, and inclement weather, with occasional exposure to hazardous work conditions.
