As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing our development team, overseeing all technical aspects of our projects, and pursuing new and exciting opportunities for growth. You'll play a critical role in integrating all key technical capabilities and will become one of Tamatem's key pillars.

The Role
Your role within Tamatem’s world will include: Technical vision & execution
- Define technical vision of both existing and new products across a range of areas (e.g. gameplay mechanics, UI, engine, etc.)
- Define technical roadmap and regularly meet with both internal and external programming teams to discuss progress, challenges, provide feedback and remove roadblocks
- Provide technical oversight by reviewing code and making technical validations
- Stay up to date on technological advancements and industry standards to define our best practices + share them with your team
- Present technical and development updates, KPIs, reporting and other analysis to senior management
- Team building and skills development
- Identify and recruit your team members (Note: we are in the process of building Tamatem’s studio)
- Mentor and motivate programmers to develop their technical skills
- Ensure that your team is provided with what they need to work efficiently and achieve quality (tools, pipelines, etc.)
- Administrate access and licenses for most of the software/tools we use in the studio
Studio management
- Manage budget based on forecast and target metrics. Collaborate with product and other teams to plan and implement new studio and company initiatives
- Utilize (and improve) best practice methodologies, production processes and efficient tools to promote and foster an innovation mindset and effective collaboration with external / internal stakeholders
- Lead basic studio legal activities - letters of agreement, contracts, leases, and other legal documents and agreements
- Develop external partnerships with 3rd parties to leverage resources and cost advantages
Project management
- Assess project risks, anticipate challenges, and request support from appropriate internal team when necessary
- Create and effectively communicate all tasks, priorities, and deadlines for internal resources and external development teams
- Collaborate with the internal teams to drive in-depth data analysis and research that will inform technical decisions
- Ensure game features and systems are scalable, flexible, and simple to use.
Process improvement
- Ideate, design, and iterate on development processes and practices within the product teams
- Create documentation to capture key challenges, solutions and learning points
Requirements :
- Experience leading technical development in the mobile/video games space and have shipped at least 2 large scale game titles
- Tangible leadership and significant management skills (overseeing studio operations and/ or creation)
- Strong practical mastery of technical skills (unity, html5, c++, other)
- Strong production & development skills (ideally in mobile game development)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, STEM fields
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
