Overview

As a Senior Technical Artist, you will be part of spearheading technical solutions and optimizations to find the balance between quality and efficiency. You will act as the glue between artists and programmers, and work closely with project art leads and Technical Art Director. This position will also provide technical mentorship and guidance for other Technical Artists.

**Responsibilities

  • Work with Art groups and programmers to effectively produce technically correct art content and bring it into the engine
  • Support artists and engineers in the use of the art pipeline and user-facing engine tools
  • Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers regarding asset performance and validation
  • Review creative process and identify opportunities for tool improvements
  • Develop 3D art pipeline tools and extensions with an eye towards usability and efficiency
  • Solve challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline
  • Collaborate with engineers and testers to diagnose and resolve in-game problems
  • Inspire and empower the art team to optimize their processes
  • Maintain communication with peers in all departments
  • Occasionally support Lead in recruitment projects with HR collaboration

Required Skills :

  • 6+ years' experience as a Technical Artist in AAA video games and at least one AAA shipped title
  • Current-generation AAA video game platform experience with two or more published titles
  • Strong understanding of the performance implications of open-world development on consoles and PCs
  • Strong Understanding of Unreal Engine Blueprints or other Engine Node Graph Systems
  • Strong understanding of In-Engine Shader Systems and In-Engine Tools Development
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively balance the needs of game design, art, and programming
  • A web portfolio that demonstrates usable game development and tools
  • Samples, demonstrations, or documentation of tools pipelines developed to overcome development challenges
