Platform Support Engineer NetOPS

Job Description In a nutshell As a Platform Support Engineer, you will provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues. Where will you be based and what business will you support? Based in Barcelona, you be part of the IT Infrastructure Delivery team and support our Professional Scientific Services.  How can you help us?   You will provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting tasks to resolve issues by:  Configuring and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN;  Performing network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations;  Monitoring performance and ensure system availability and reliability of network devices;  Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure;  Problem ticket generation and response; carrier interface and escalations. Implement security policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team;  Liaising with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution:  What can we do for you? Qualifications Are you our kind of extraordinary? You have, at least 3 years of experience in the below: CCNA certified or equivalent level of knowledge;  Experience of working on network equipment in a large NOC or multivendor environment;  Basic understanding of the following protocols: IP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, IPsec, OSFP / BGP, .1Q and STP;  Firewall technologies (at least two of the ones mentioned): Fortinet, Palo Alto or Checkpoint;  Familiar working in a data centre environment;  Able to analyse problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and device recovery;  Clear communicator (written and verbal);  Capable of prioritising and managing own workload;  Collaborative team player;  Self-motivated;  Capable of working/using own initiative with minimal supervision. What else should I know?   Below skills will be an advantage: CCNP / JNCIA;  Basic understanding of AAA platforms such as Radius and/or TACACS;  Strong experience with checkpoint firewall;  Experience with A10 Load Balancer;  Automation skills (Ansible / python / terraform) or another developing tool.
