Core values of Trust, Autonomy, Craftsmanship, Collaboration and Learn Fast help drive our innovative culture.About the role: Product Engine is the centre of our Shop department, providing all of the necessary product data to other clusters and departments, along with making those details searchable via our Search matching and ranking services.This team is involved in building and optimising our ranking algorithm that currently runs Search OSP, and will soon be taking over areas such as Browse/Category ranking. Its an exciting opportunity to learn about how our Search systems work, along with working closely with Data Science!Together with our Search Matching and Core teams Ranking helps to provide our customers with a complete Smart Search solution. Key Responsibilities: Work actively to build good relationships and trust between the team and other stakeholders, embedding a one Ocado approachWork with the team to produce effective ways of working and processes Increase where necessary and maintain high levels of engagement within the team measured through continuous feedback via 121s and PeakonPersonal development, goal setting and career growth for your team of engineersResponsible, and accountable for the delivery of the team. Maintaining a well documented Jira plan of capabilities Clear communication of risks to delivery to both Product and Engineering Leadership Working closely with product initiative owners to estimate, plan and delivery on our product goalsMaintain a stream of engineering initiatives to decrease technical debt and improve performance within the product Knowledge, skills and experience Previous experience of A/B testing, and its effect on delivery is beneficial but not essential Previous experience working with Data Science is highly desirableYou must be able to see the wider picture, helping to achieve cluster and departmental goals as much as your team specific goals An ability to translate business needs and objectives into team directionWhere necessary the ability to disagree and commit, and bring your team together for the needs of the business Able to identify and address resistance to change through proactive communicationPrevious experience in a leadership role would be beneficial but not essentialPositive attitude and resilience when faced with challenges and ambiguityExcellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills Please let us know in your application if you need any special adaptations for the selection process.
