IT Platform Engineer

Verisure, operating under two brand names (Securitas Direct & Verisure) is seeking a talented, innovative, passionate Platform Engineer The role will part of a growing and talented Technology team and will report directly to the Team Lead of Core Platform Products. Our team is responsible for providing the Technical Platform that our developers use to build, deploy, release, and run their software.This is a critical role that will help the Technology organization in the evolution of our current technology platform, fostering our developer’s autonomy, keeping scalability, security, quality, and reliability in mind.As a Platform Engineer, member of our Core Platform Product team, you will define, maintain and evolve the Verisure Kubernetes Platform, with a Devops mindset.Responsibilities will include:Be part of the technical team responsible for designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining our internal Kubernetes deployments.Participate in technical decisions, discussions, and tradeoffs, to deliver a technical solution design and implementation.Apply technical standards, patterns, and best practices to the solution provided.Ensure software quality and security are considered as part of the solution, including the generation and execution of appropriate tests, with focus on testing automation.Constantly seek continuous improvement and optimization of the system. This involves staying aware of the latest trends and advances in the industry, as well as identifying possible areas of improvement within the existing solution.Consider observability as part of the product to be implemented, to get an easy operation of the system.LocationWorking under a Hybrid Model, you’ll work from home and at our Madrid offices.Reports and organization structureDirect reporting line into the Team Lead of Core Platform ProductsCandidate profileExperiences and QualificationsWe see this role as critical for the achievement of Verisure’s growth and organizational transformation goals. The ideal candidate will be a strategic solution provider as well as operational enabler.Required Qualifications:Master/ in Computer Engineering.Fluent level of English.6 years of probable experience in IT.Experience administering with Kubernetes, especially RKE2, AKS, EKSBroad knowledge of different Infrastructure as Code and automatization languages, specially Terraform, Ansible and AWXSolid understanding of design practices and system architecture, considering implications and trade-offs of reliability, scalability, security, operation costs, adoption path recruitments.Will be a plus:Public/private cloud experience, especially Azure and AWSExperience in Agile Frameworks and DevOps principles.CompetenciesStrong analytical skills, with focus on making things happen.Team player, Organized, methodical and responsible.Good communication skills to explain in detail complex solutions to both management, teammates, and team members, being a trusted technology adviser for them.Proactive and with initiative.Self-organized, focused on objectives.A match to our culture – high energy and flex, fantastic at communication and huge amounts of drive.
